Phuket August Escapade

Last month, I had a short getaway trip to Phuket along with my husband and brother to relax and escape from stressful work life. We had this trip to spend more quality time with one another. It was good and relaxing time short vacation! It's 1 hour and 45 minutes flight away from Singapore and this place is favored by many beach bums like ourselves.

First Night

Reached Phuket Airport at the time expected. It's not a bumpy ride, flight was smooth. We were picked-up by van which was pre-arranged from the resort we stayed. The journey from the airport to our hotel took about an hour. It was dark outside and we can only see lights flashes from the cars and some from the post lamps.

We reached Deevana Patong Resort Hotel (btw, we managed to get a good deal) and after checking in, we took a rest for awhile.

Sneak peak of our home for 2 days and 3 nights.

We have booked for 1 room which is good for 3 people ( 1 twin sharing and extra bed was provided ). It's quite spacious and there's even a balcony. It 'was a lovely overlooking room. Bathroom is clean with complete toiletries!

After we checked in, we rest for a bit then we stepped out to find a place where to eat. we all excited because we were prompted by my friends that Thai food is great and very CHEAP! we tend not to eat in a restaurant as we would like to try the small dining area along the streets.

And these what we've got for SGD 30.00 including beers, juices, and dessert. Isn't is cheap??

Mixed Vegetables & Pineapple Rice

Happy Tummy, Happy People!

Seafood Tom Yum Soup & Buttered Garlic Prawn
It took up one hour to finish our food then we headed straight down to Patong and reached Bangla Road  to experience Phuket night life. The whole stretch are FULL of people that mostly tourist. It's a place wherein you can find different bars, clubs, discos and karaoke  that majority is a large community of transgender people around the world. These fellas are gorgeous! It's really an amazing place.

Day 1
It's a beautiful sunny morning just right for our island hopping. Yes, that's our first itinerary on our first day. Our trip won't be completed without this stuff  and it's something to look forward to. But before the much awaited island hopping tour.we had our breakfast first cause we need enough energy for the whole day.

Buffet Breakfast is truly heaven! :)
We're all ready!

We were fetched by the van as early as 8:00 am at our hotel and drove for above  30 mins to the jump point for our speedy boat ride. Another option for this tour is by big boat, which much slower, cheaper and bunch of tourist. But better try going by speedboat cause it saves you a lot of time.

Phuket is surrounded by many beautiful islands that each one of them has something to offer. A short briefing was given by the tour guide and we were given a seasick pill. Then we left the ground and headed for the speed boat ride!

Ride is waiting, a bit of briefing and voila, we got our fins!

It wasn't that bumpy so we never had a seasick at all.

First Stop - Maya Beach (where the movie The Beach was filmed) located in Ko Phi Phi Lee island in Krabi.
We were stunned and amazed by the serenity and beauty of this island. The water is crystal clear indeed and calm. Bunch of tourist we're enjoying the island. We spent half an hour here then off to next destination.

The breathtaking bay is located inside the rocks where water is calm & clear.

2nd Stop - Viking cave located in north side of  Piley Bay in Phi Phi Leh Island Krabi
If you have heard about the birds nest soup, well this is where some of the birds nest soup came from. Inside the cave, a lot of birds reside in and these birds make their nest out of their saliva. Nest are harvested and sold them to make birds nest soup. We didn't enter the cave, our boat just stopped nearly by the entrance for us to see a bit of the inner side of the cave and to take photos.

3rd StopMonkey Beach is located at the west side of Tonsai Bay
The name says it all! Hundred of monkeys descent upon this area aside from stunning power white sand beach and clean water. They eat offered fruits by tourist. Monkeys here are really smart! I didn't tried feeding them cause I'm scared though they are not naughty compared to the ones in Bali. We stayed half an hour too.

4th Stop - Loh Samah
Our speedboat stopped in the middle of the sea for some snorkeling. I never been snorkeling before so I was quite scared. We donned the life jacket and jumped off the water. The current  was quite strong so I got off the water immediately.

5th Stop - Phi Phi Don Island
It's mid day so we had our buffet lunch here (it's included in our package tour) in a restaurant right on the stunning beach. Foods are amazingly good! Mostly Asian dishes which includes Thai ones were served here. Ooops, there were fruits galore too which completed our meal. Afterwards, we went for a walk to explore to island. There were cottages/villas, souvenir shops

6th- Our Last Stop -  Khai Island
Finally we reached this island surrounded by emerald green crystal water with thousand of tropical fishes. The water around the island is shallow which is safe to swim especially for the kids while enjoying themselves feeding the fishes. It's a great place to  relax, for swimming, snorkeling and sun bathing.

Our second night, it's time for diner and instead of trying fancy restaurant, we opted to go again to the same place.

Day 2
Our last day in Phuket. We had an early  breakfast and afterwards we took time splashing on the pool while everyone is still asleep and busy.

Since we took the evening flight we decided to take walk to the nearest mall to buy souvenirs for our friends. Then we headed to Patong Beach to find a place to eat for lunch.

If you want are looking for some water sports adventure, Patong Beach is the right place. You can do paragliding, banana boat and jet ski ride. Its the best of both worlds - gorgeous, huge and wide beach with white sand and warm water that has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs that surrounds the area.

Hubby decided to have souvenir from Phuket so he ended up getting a tatto :)

Two days was so quick but it was very well spent and deserving escapade for the three of us. We will definitely visit Phuket again to explore some other hidden paradise that we didn't visit.
