Happy Thanksgiving!

28 November

Happy Thanksgiving! We don't normally practice this celebration here in SG but nevertheless, Id like you to hear me out what I am grateful/thankful for.

First, for having these wonderful people in my life. Without them, my life wouldn't be as happy and crazy as it is now. These guys inspired me most of the time, support me all the way and never stop believing that I can move mountains in my own ways that is why I love them bits and pieces.

Second, I am thankful for Quedos for giving me the opportunity to grow with them, trusting and believing in my capabilities. And for having a cool colleagues and bosses.

Third,I am thankful for having great friends. They are maybe few but I've got the real ones that I can call friends for life.
Fourth, I am thankful for all the countries and high profile individual  who extended their aid for my country/countrymen who were affected by  the recent typhoon.
Actually, I am truly thankful that my family (especially  my son and my mom who is cancer free for 8 years) is in good health, has roof over our head, a safe place to sleep, food and drinks, and other things that we needed.

But all these things won't be possible without Him. I am thankful and forever will be to God for His goodness, blessings, forgiveness, for life and for sending His only son Jesus Christ as our saviour and strength. ( and also Mama Mary, St Jude, Tatay Nazareno, St Joseph, Sto Nino and Holy Spirit).

What about you? What are the things you are thankful for?

on a personal note, Thank You! - Day 6

6 November

My mum's close friend way back in her high school days is in town. And look what she brought us ? BANANA CHIPS all the way from Batangas Philippines.

I have tasted banana chips from the local shops here manufactured in Malaysia and Indonesia but nothing beats the taste of our own. I remember my younger years when my Lola Citang (my mum's mother) used to make her own banana chips for us to munch on. It was so yummy!  Recalling the aroma when she's frying it made me missed the old days.

I am a huge sucker of banana chips and my husband so when she handed this over to us, I was drooling and immediately open it :). It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!

Crunchy & Yummy  Banana Chips from Batangas :)

Thank's Tita Jing for this Banana Chips from Batangas. I never had this one in ages :)

Let me end this by sharing the health benefits of Banana Chips from Nuts.com

Health Tips :

1. Bananas are an excellent source of potassium.

2. Bananas can help cure an upset stomach by stimulating the production of mucus and cells in the stomach, thus creating a barrier between the stomach lining and the acids that cause upset stomachs and heartburn.

3. Bananas have been seen to be useful in the treatment of goiters, which are enlargements of the thyroid gland.

4. The pectin a (soluble fiber)in bananas helps fight off colon and pancreatic cancers.

5. Bananas have antibiotic properties to help fight off infections and viruses.

6. Bananas are excellent energy snacks, particularly for the after activity period. They contain vitamins B6 and C, potassium, and dietary fiber. During strenuous physical activity, your body loses a lot of these vitamins and minerals and eating a banana will help replace them to keep you going. Runners and bikers eat bananas after races for that reason. Bananas also contain more digestive carbohydrates than other fruit, calories from which body burns off more quickly and easily than from protein or fat.
